The Wall
The Wall is a series of 9 photographs made over a period of 30 minutes in Bristol’s Arnolfini gallery on the final day of Grayson Perry’s “The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever!”. It is inspired by and also a reaction to White Wall by Adam Maizey.
While walking around the exhibition I noticed that people would often spend longer reading the explanatory text stuck on the walls than looking at the exhibits. It reminded me of how my cats will stare at a blank wall for hours on end. I found that through the camera I could make it feel like the other visitors were also looking blankly at the walls of the gallery.
